OH MAN.

Between the holidays, friends in town, being sick and a ginormous amount of stress at work, I have totally totally slacked on the gym/exercising. And I am running a half-marathon in 26 days. I started this blog to keep myself honest, and I have not been totally honest. And I’ve majorly been slacking on this half-marathon training the past few weeks. The weather + feeling like I’m “almost there” (in addition to everything else) have made it really easy to make excuses. No more.

I have not run (or otherwise exercised) since last Sunday, when I did two miles on the treadmill as a recovery run. I should have done an eight-mile long run last weekend, but that 5K threw a wrench in things. I had planned on doing four miles outside today, but wow, it’s gross. So I’m headed up to the gym in my building to do four miles.

This week, I am busy pretty much every night. I hereby resolve to limit my alcohol and sweet consumption and not stay out too late so that I can wake up and get to the gym in the morning.

Tonight: 4 miles Um, I did 2.5 and thought I was going to pass out. It may or may not have something to do with the two glasses of champagne consumed with brunch plus some red wine and champagne consumed this weekend?

Tomorrow: gym before work (Stairmaster, perhaps)

Tuesday: 2-mile recovery run in the morning

Wednesday: 7-mile tempo in the morning

Thursday: Joel at 7am

Friday: 2-mile recovery run in the morning

Saturday: NYRR Ted Corbitt 15K

Sunday: REST DAY.
