I promised a post on my hypocrisy, and here you are.

This other hot chick in the photo is my little sis Kellie. Not little sis as in sorority or even as in biologically, but just my little sis. (Don’t try to understand it, just embrace it.) We met when I was 15 and she was 14 at our tennis day camp. I think initially we were each intimidated by each other, but we became fast friends once she realized my little tennis skirts and jumping around at the back of the court were nothing to be intimidated by. Technically, we lived in different states; I lived in northern NJ, she lived in Rockland County, NY (basically on the border of NJ). But that didn’t stop us from basically spending every waking moment together those summers in high school. We told our tennis coaches that the meals they gave us at lunch were way too fattening and carb-y and we needed more salads. Rather than backhanding us, they listened to two punk-ass teenagers. After we went off to college, Kellie stayed ridiculously healthy, and, um, I didn’t.

We went to the Atlantis in the Bahamas with my mom the summer after my freshman year of college/summer before her freshman year. She would order things like yogurt and fruit parfaits for lunch and lots of salads and she would go work out before we would hit the beach. My mom and I, obviously, made fun of her. However, she stayed adorable and thin…and I didn’t.

Last night, we attended a cupcake and wine tasting. (Amazing and not healthy, I know.) I was telling her about how I gave blood the other day and she asked if I ate anything afterwards so I didn’t pass out. “Well, I had a pack of Oreos,” I said. “They had orange juice, but I’ve never really been crazy about juice… and there’s too many calories and too much sugar…”

“OH REALLY?!” Kellie said.

Yup. After years of making fun of the healthy people (and the joke really being on me), I am now one of those healthy people.

[Question. I pulled this off of Facebook. Do photos from Facebook always come out this tiny?]
