What made you finally decide to start losing weight? Have you had previous successful or unsuccessful attempts?
I had just turned 26 and was super-unhappy with how I looked/felt/etc. A few of my friends had recently lost significant amounts of weight/toned up a lot. I was sick of being jealous! And one of my best friends asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding in Aruba. I wasn’t going to be the fat chick on the beach!
I had definitely had more unsuccessful attempts than successful attempts. The refusal to own a scale/step on it once I did/believe the number once I stepped on it also contributed to the unsuccessfulness, I would imagine. I had lost a few pounds here and there before, but nothing this significant!
