(Where I physically am coming to you from is NYC!)
I had a talk with my friend this weekend about this here blog. When I started, it was to chronicle my weight-loss adventure and also give me another outlet to write. It’s definitely still both of those, but it’s also definitely started tending towards advice about weight loss. And given that I lost 50 pounds in the past year, obviously, a lot of you believe in what I’m writing about — because it’s worked, and you want to know how you, too, can lose weight. (If you don’t believe in what I’m writing about, that’s okay, too. I can’t win y’all.)
So, she’s right — I probably do have more influence over my readers than I realize. With that said, if you think something I write is completely bogus, please let me know, or do some research on your own. Or if you don’t understand why I’m recommending something, feel free to ask me. Also, please understand that the general nutrition principles linked to in the sidebar (and here) were written by Joel.
That said, they are the overarching principles that I follow.
Are there other ways? Sure.
Are those ways better? Maybe.
Did these principles work for me? Yup.
Do I still follow them 100% to the letter? Not quite. They’re not easy to follow — and that’s why they worked.
Should I? Probably.
I definitely eat more pre-prepared food than I should, but I’m working on that — I’m constantly evolving and changing.
I hope that clears some things up.
