I’d signed up for Yoga on the Great Lawn a while ago. I’m starting to like yoga more, and I love doing fun things in NYC, obviously. I’d signed up on Flavorpill’s site to get a free ticket.
But last week, Ashley tweeted that she had free VIP tickets for any interested NYC readers. I had recently started following her because we are both going to the Healthy Living Summit in August. I obviously have no qualms meeting people from the internets, so I tweeted back I’d love to go and she sent me the info. (In total small-worldness, she’s also in Junior League!)
What does VIP at a yoga event mean? We didn’t have to wait in line and we got a HUGE swag bag while everyone else just got the free yoga mat. The swag bag included samples of Siggi yogurt, a Kind bar [which I can’t eat because I’m allergic to nuts], a yoga bandana, all kinds of coupons for free yoga classes and yoga gear, and a cupcake from Otarian.
There were supposedly 10,000 people there, but we got to be near the front!
We waited and chatted for quite some time, presumably so they could let more people in…or wait for the storm to pass; I’m not sure which one.
Like I said, there were a lot of people!
This guy ran through once the yoga finally started and said “I’m at yoga!” He was pretty funny. Once the yoga finally started — half an hour late — they ended it after about five minutes because of the rain. Hopefully, they will reschedule!
Check out Ashley’s post for another recap! Her photos of me remind me that although I haven’t gained any weight, I’ve definitely been slacking on my eating lately, and I need to stay on top of my eating to tone up my stomach like I want to.
