What’s your personality type?

I was reading Caitlin’s blog, and she had an interesting post about running and recharging your batteries. At the end, she asked what recharged your batteries, and an interesting discussion about being an introvert vs. being an extrovert started in the comments. ‘

According to one definition, if you require alone time to recharge your batteries, you lean towards being an introvert; if you recharge your batteries with other people, you are an extrovert. Honestly, I think it depends on the situation. If I’ve been around people every second for an entire weekend (like having people visit or going away with people), I need a little me time. If I’ve been alone for a long stretch of time (doesn’t usually happen), I definitely need to see people.

My personality type is ENFJ, according to Meyers-Brigg. This means I love people and being around them and often have a hard time being alone—which is spot-on. Appreciating me time is a relatively new development.

I think this stuff is really interesting. I had to take a personality test (or something like it) as part of a job interview process once, and that ended up being an amazing job and a great fit with my boss—despite the personality test nearly scaring me off from the job! 🙂

If you don’t know what your personality type is, you can find out here.
