Will Ski For Food

1987:

2011:

I didn’t really remember, but apparently I’ve been here before, when I was four years old.

And apparently another four-year-old wanted to come, too. I miss him like crazy, but at least he’s having fun at his grandma and grandpa’s house, and I have another dog to play with here. (Don’t tell him.)

Do you recognize this little guy? This is Murphy, Tina’s sweet little pug. He is just as funny in person as he is on her blog.

To fuel up for a day of skiing yesterday, I went for a familiar breakfast. My stomach was a little unsettled with all of the treats the night before, so I wanted something very basic. Or I’m addicted to this breakfast. Whichever.

When you travel with bloggers, clearly we all blog over breakfast.

While Friday was a sunny day with great conditions, yesterday was really snowy. The fresh powder was great, but the snow definitely reduced the visibility, which made this super-cautious skiier a little nervous.

But nothing some lunchtime beers couldn’t help with.

I’m never taking another picture with my hair up again, by the way.

Tina and Mal. (I wasn’t the only one taking a picture.)

I had a wrap with chicken and veggies. It came with chips, but I really wanted fries, so I asked for them. Ask and ye shall receive.

After two beers, we weren’t in a huge rush to get back out there, but we did, and it was awesome. (Photo actually from Friday.)

(Outdoor photos via Leslie; I was too lazy/cold to take my mittens off.)

Leslie, Meghann and their men went off on some double black mogul trails…

I’ll do single blacks, but I WILL NOT do double blacks and will not do an entire trail of moguls. So I went off on some more blues, but then I found a few more easy blacks to end the day feeling proud of myself.

So we had more beer! This Long Trail is pretty amazing.

We came back, and Bo, Ashley’s husband, had already done much of the cooking for dinner.

He made beef bourguignon, cassoulet, brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes and salad.

And I had some more ice cream for dessert.

Commence food coma: now.
