While I’m still missin’ my blogging buddies, I’m glad to be back home and back in the groove–especially since I’m leaving again this weekend. I’m heading to Outer Banks, N.C. for Memorial Day! I must admit, I sort of kicked ass at life today. I got a lot done both at work and with some outside-of-work projects. I’m definitely still riding the high of this weekend.
I caught up on some sleep this morning, so I headed to the gym after work for Barre Burn. I’ve really been loving barre classes like this (well, it’s not technically at a barre, but the movements are similar) and Physique 57 lately. They feel like a combination of strength training and yoga, so I feel strong and relaxed.
Since I’m only going to be around tonight and tomorrow night this week, I very easily could have gotten takeout, but I’m actually really getting sick of it lately. I only really want sushi these days, and I don’t ever want to get sick of sushi. (And, um, it’s not cheap.) So, really, I cooked tonight because there wasn’t anywhere I felt like ordering from. Whatever gets me to cook, right?
I made some whole wheat pasta with broccoli rabe and turkey sausage. And forgot to take the casing off the sausage. Oops.
Pretty pictures of food sort of give you the feeling that the food’s being served in some sort of perfectly neat kitchen, right? Well, take a look at when I zoom out. There’s the mess that awaits me right now.

Gahhh so jealous that you're going to OBX! I'm currently deciding between staying in (what I think will be) the deserted city, or going to PA for a few barbecues with old people. Decisions, decisions...
Let's definitely meet up soon! Happy hour, perhaps? :)
I'm usually in OBX for Memorial Day but around for Fourth of July--it's kind of nice being in the city when nobody else is around. It's much easier to get into popular restaurants/bars.
Your dinner looks delish! Sometimes I just like throwing together a pasta dish for dinner. Have fun in OBX!! I will be in Miami! Woohooo
It's nice and easy! Have fun in Miami!
