I got up to Rhode Island this afternoon, and we went to look for lunch. Some of the fam went to Walt’s Roast Beef, but I saw a Great Harvest and wanted to try it. I feel like it’s the Body Pump of breads. Awesome, popular in the blogging world, but not easy to come by in NYC.
I mean, if Kath and her husband are opening one, it’s got to be healthy, right?
If I weren’t going from here to Boston and from Boston to Baltimore, I might have picked up a whole lot more, but I just picked up a gift and a Kahuna bar for me.
I went for a California cobb sandwich–turkey, avocado, bacon and a little blue cheese spread (okay, not totally healthy. But totally yummy.) on nine-grain bread with lettuce, tomato and onion.
And a little onion ring from Walt’s.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Great Harvest!!! I first experienced their bread @ a local outdoor market near New Hope here in PA and then realized that there is a store not too far from where I am, but still a good 30 min drive and don't get there often, but recently an indoor market opened 15 mins from here that carry their bread and I am so happy once again!!!! I am so jealous though as the store near here is not as nice as the one you visited! Nor do they have all that you speak about!
Did you not get a honkin' slice from the Bread Board?! The Kahuna is amazing!
@Kath: I didn't know I should! Is that the calendar thingy? Everything looked so good, and the sandwich was delicious. I can't wait to try the Kahuna!
Umm. I am not crazily stalking the great harvest sight to see the closest one to me! Looks yum!
@Cait @ Beyond Bananas: I've seen a lot of people (or maybe just Kath, a lot?) write about it, and I looked it up, too. I think you're in CT, right? The closest one is probably this one!
We had a Great Harvest in Philadelphia and I loved their sandwiches!!! SO Delicious:)
