What You Don’t See

I share an awful lot on this blog, but there’s also a lot you don’t see.

Some of it’s good, some of it is the rough stuff.

You don’t always see…

[the good]

…those simple nights with friends that somehow end up being the best nights ever, better than the fancy dinners and events

…any men in my life (well, there’s nothing to see right now, but sharing romantical relationships on my blog makes me uncomfortable)

…the long walks with just me and Bailey

…all of my workouts (some of them are boring)

…all of my meals (a lot of them are boring)

[the bad]

…that despite being unemployed, I still spend too much money on getting food out

…that occasionally being single, unemployed and living alone makes me really lonely

…that a lot of the time, it’s still a mental fight to pick the healthier food and to get a workout done

What do you wish you saw more of on here? If you have a blog, what stuff do you leave out?

  • I agree with the nights in being some of the best nights ever! I have found the same thing!

    I can relate a lot to the mental battle to make healthy choices or get the workout in so I wouldn't mind seeing that some more. It is good to know that accomplished athletes struggle to.

    I don't share anything overly negative on my blog- I try to limit any pity parties or depression from overtaking the blog. I don't blog about things like fights or disagreements with friends. I don't blog about certain activities I am involved in (for a variety of reasons including safety).

  • I share pretty much everything, except anything having to do with my very close personal relationships. I tend to keep that close to the vest, but if I were to start into a new relationship I might blog about it vaguely.

  • I leave out some meals especially if they are boring or not the healthiest but hey we are all normal and aren't going to eat 100% healthy every minute of our lives!

  • I hope you know that you're always welcome at our home, especially with Bailey! :)

    I really can't think of anything i'd like to see more of other than just maybe tips and tricks each week since you may have more SEO/working with brands experience than other people.

  • Ok, how about Mom coming in for dinner, also
    why don't you come home and get some really good recipes
    I only have about 100 or so cookbooks, and yes they are not all Italian cooking,some are really healthy duh!!!
    How about joining some really fun clubs,
    Mom and Dad can come in and go to the Met with you
    Never ever feel lonely, maybe alone at times, but you have a furry little friend there to keep company
    but never feel lonely!!!!! Too many people that love you and want to see you

  • Everyone knows me to be always on the move, always headed to the next event, restaurant get together, tweetup. But what they don't know is that my husband and I tend to spend Saturday nights at home watching Suze Orman. I'm old and married, but it's all good for me.

  • I would love to see more of the simple nights in. NYC is beautiful with so many things to do but I love seeing all the simple ways people enjoy their time.

    Also a fun day of just you and Bailey would be cute.

    For me: I leave out my boring day to day job. It's complicated to explain somedays and super boring others. I also leave out most of my food because it's repetitive and boring. And the boring ways I spend most evenings.

  • I like what you post, the good and bad. I don't want to tell you to post anything that might be outside your comfort zone. But I can relate to feeling lonely, I love being alone sometimes and feel incredibly lonely at others. I don't share a lot on my blog. I generally don't post much about work cause it's just not a good idea for my job. I don't post much about my past struggles with food because it was so long before I started the blog and I worry about it being negative for some out there. The other stuff is pretty obvious I guess. This post made me think, thanks!
