The NYC Marathon in Race Photos

I <3 race photos. Sometimes they catch me at my best, sometimes they catch me at my worst, but unless they catch me walking my bike after a flat tire, they usually make me smile.

So, while most people dread getting their race photos, I sort of love it. (Chicago in race photos; NYC Half in race photos.)

Hola Mexico. Get out of my way, por favor.

Oh, yeah. I will just give the camera this super-creepy thumbs-up, and then I will go overtake some Kenyans and win the race.

Hi Jimbo. Please keep running so that I can get closer to the camera.

4:19 OR BUST. Or maybe I had just seen a banana and had to run to it.

Or maybe I just needed to use the bathroom.

I thought I <3-ed sweat, but I think I just <3 cameras. I think Tina’s doing a little dance over there.

Lady, I really like your orange and all, but if you don’t move, I have Jack Johnson and Tom O’Leary back here.

I don’t actually know where this is, but I’m going to assume it’s Central Park because there are SO MANY PEOPLE. I definitely ran into quite a few people in the park. I think I picked up my pace in the park because I was so pissed that it was so packed.

Because I can’t run a race without having a stopping-the-Garmin photo. I really thought they took the photo right before the finish line, and I’d be in the clear waiting, but no dice.

See, I tried. I really tried to wait.

If I could have jumped up and down and it wouldn’t have affected my time, I would have been doing this right here.

My legs hurt like all hell here, but I am so goddamn happy.

  • Great photos! I enjoy re-living the race through the photos and seeing what I actually looked like out there on the course. You looked like you were enjoying yourself in every photo, except for the one photo where you were running towards a BANANA! Congrats again on a great race.

  • One of my race goals is to one day get awesome pictures, or at least awesomely hilarious ones. I like the teeth-gritting ones followed immediately by the happy arms-in-the-air photo.

  • Haha, you got some great photos! The one with Jimbo is hilarious - I always love it when you have to play "where's waldo" to find yourself in certain pictures because someone else is front and center.

  • These are unbelievably good...photoshop? ;)I always look horiffic in race photos! Also as a UK blog reader I say don't hate on jimbo - he's running for Cancer Research UK :)

  • Your race photos turned out amazing! I'd have such a hard time picking which one to buy!
    Congrats again - you're a total rockstar.
