I had my first work event tonight since starting my new job, and I survived.
Remember how I wrote about DailyBurn last month? Tonight they held their launch party for Intelliburn at the lovely IAC building, where my lovely friend Emily works, planning their events. Which means she planned this event. Being on a work conference call with one of your friends on the other end? Very weird.
This space looks gorgeous from the inside, but it’s even prettier from the outside.

From the 9th floor, where we were, you could see the Hudson and views of my very scenic and gorgeous home state.
KALE CHIPS AT THE BAR! I swear I had little to do with this.
(See the sweet view? That’s the Empire State Building, behind the tree behind my head.)
It was a press event, so there were lots of bloggers and other media people. Like Melissa.
And my friend Abby, generally referred to on this blog as Former Coworker Abby.
The event was actually pretty fun for me to work, since I got to chat with a bunch of reporters and bloggers, most of whom I already knew.
I also managed to make it to a 6:30 abs class this morning, so I am exhausted. (The class? SO HARD. Last night, I was all “30 minute ab class? I really should take a 45-minute class” …but yeah. Jaz is no joke. Ever. The class included jumping squats, planks, approximately forty million different kinds of crunches, and mountain climbers on glide disks, and there is no way in hell I could have pushed through another 15 minutes of it.)
So now I’m off to sleep with visions of rest days dancing in my head. Two hard running workouts and two hard strength workouts later, I can’t remember the last time I wanted a rest day so badly.
No idea why I chose Frank Sinatra lyrics to name my last post on this…
As I mentioned in my last post, I've really been going through it with headaches.…

I woke up this morning already feeling anxious. (Yay!) My standard iPhone alarm is set…
I read The Midnight Library over the weekend, and I need to talk about it.…

You are just all things social media, blogging and fitness. All your worlds collide into one :)
@Sana: They sort of do all collide into one. Which is fine by me :)
Sounds like a fun event, especially working with a friend! I've done an "b lab" class and come out wanting to just curl up and not move haha :P
I'm totally on the Daily Burn train this weekend. Snow days = Indoor workout extravaganza. The event was awesome! Loved seeing you!
@Former Coworker Abby: Woot. Thanks again for coming!
Cool building! And LOVE that they had kale chips, ha.
@Anne P: I didn't get to try them, but I would imagine they are nowhere near as good as those epic ones in Boulder. Can we go back just to eat kale chips?
Looks like a fun event! Gliders are killer! If you're really motivated and want to improvise at home, you can use paper plates on carpeting or dishtowels on hard wood floors!
The building is awesome! Great views too!!
That looks like such a fun event! Totally jealous!
I am very interested in learning more about Daily Burn.. I use the tracker, which I love and I have a gym where I do my primary workouts, but was looking for some added at home options and guidance.. I am reluctant to commit my credit card for the trail and I was wondering what you thought about it. I did read your initial review, but have you used it on a consistent basis? Also, I can't tell from the site if you get the intelliworkouts (or whatever they are called) with the basic plan or if you had to purchase the most expensive elite plan for that. Thanks in advance for any info you might be able to pass along to me!
