What I’m Loving Lately

I like Jocelyn’s What I’m Loving Lately posts so much, I’m stealing the idea for one. (Cool, Jocelyn?)

Noise-Canceling Headphones. I got a pair of these for Christmas a few years ago, and let me tell you, it’s like a party in your ears. I usually only wear them on flights, but after breaking another pair of iPhone headphones this week, I brought these to work. I don’t care if I look like a tool, there’s a party in my ears, and you’re not invited.

Bermuda shorts. These are my jam on Friday afternoons in the summer. I could probably get away with just wearing them with flat sandals, but I usually put them on with a pair of heels to make it less like I’m wearing shorts to work…and then they’re not casual any more. But I still feel like I’m getting away with something, even though my office is fairly casual when I’m not meeting with clients.

(Speaking of shorts, every single pair of shorts J. Crew makes is wonderful, not just these. Also, the ones at the outlet are half as much as the ones in the store, and pretty much the same thing.)

Heels. While, in theory, I always love heels, I also hate carrying things since before you know it, you can be walking to work with a bag for your shoes, a bag of food and a gym bag. That, and when marathon training, my clumsy self generally avoids heels so as not to accidentally wipe out all that training with one fell trip. But wearing heels makes me stand a little straighter and feel a little more confident, (and yeah, thinner), so I’ll take the cheap thrills where I can get ’em.

Mani/pedis. I mean, I love them year ’round, but since I don’t wear peep-toe snow boots, I usually skip them in the winter. Ashley and I had a hot mani/pedi date tonight, and it was exactly what I needed to unwind after a tough week at work.

Olympic Trials. All of them. I can’t wait until the Olympics start.

And you? What are you loving lately?

  • I love all these things. I am also loving maxi dresses, long earrings, and passion tea at starbucks. Not loving, no more brussels sprouts til fall at dig inn.

  • I'm loving the Olympic Trials, too! I can't wait for the Olympics to start!!

  • I love wearing all my flowy skirts again, getting away with not blow drying my hair (they're "beachy waves"! This is an official look, haven't you heard?) and the fact that strawberries are still cheaper than apples these days.

  • Amen on the Bose noise canceling headphones! Completely revolutionized my work environment! Not only do they make me feel as if I'm in the music video for whatever song is playing, but they also saved me from killing an annoying co-worker who sat near me and hummed / talked to herself - ALL. DAY. LONG. It was either I spend the money on the headphones or lose a job and be thrown in jail for strangling her.

  • Lately I'm loving the iphone arm band I found stashed in a box I had yet to unpack when I moved. I was on the verge of buying a new one and now I don't have to!

Also loving the sample size Jason's almond butter I brought to work to eat with my banana.

  • I just did a post on this! I'm loving daylight savings time ( the long days!) and all of the summer produce available!

  • I'm loving Trader Joe's toasted coconut cookie thins - probably loving them a little too much!
