Well, tomorrow I’ll be running the New York City Marathon for the second time.
It’s all come to this.
My biggest race goal is to burn this off. I think that can be accomplished.
They say that the marathon is a celebration of running, and I have celebrated every second of this week.
From the Runner’s World party last night (here, with my ladies Jen, Michele and Amanda), below with Anne!
To the juicepress Run Club run this morning…
I’m ready to run this race now. And it feels real.
This week was fun, but it’s easy to feel like you’re just going through the motions. I went back to the expo today to say hello to some New Balance and Runner’s World buddies, and basically, mid-sentence it hit me that I was in a really crowded room at the Javits Center because I was going to run 26.2 miles tomorrow and try again to break 4:00. At this point, it was real, I was overwhelmed, and I came home for some quiet time.
So, the important stuff:
Goals: #sub4ordie. Don’t leave anything out there on the course. Enjoy the celebration of my favorite pastime in my favorite city.
If you want to follow along at home, I’ve signed up to tweet my splits. I honestly debated whether I would do this – what if I don’t meet my goal? But: 1. You all will find out eventually anyway, since I’m blogging about the race either way.. 2. There are probably people tracking me that I haven’t given this link to anyway.
If you are not on the Twitters, you can either download the NYC Marathon iPhone app or track me online at this link.
See ya on the other side of 26.2!
If you are in NYC…where will you be watching?!
No idea why I chose Frank Sinatra lyrics to name my last post on this…
As I mentioned in my last post, I've really been going through it with headaches.…
(tw for diet culture talk—mostly how it's BS, but how it's affected me, too) This…
I have been thinking about this post for a while—on why diet culture is unhealthy…
I woke up this morning already feeling anxious. (Yay!) My standard iPhone alarm is set…
I read The Midnight Library over the weekend, and I need to talk about it.…
