Not Bad for a Tuesday

My dear friend Blake participated in National Blog Posting Month last month, and she blogged almost every day.

I used to absolutely blog every single day and even twice a day, but I stopped for a bunch of reasons: longer hours at work, longer hours volunteering, vulnerability around sharing the bad times, and wanting to post “deeper” posts or more quality posts.

But sometimes I just want to say hi and write about my day.

So…hi! I had an awesome day today.

I started out with an Uplift Cardio class today, where I torched 481 calories before 7:30am. I walked out looking like a hot mess, a sign of a good workout.

My dry shampoo worked like a gem. Sometimes it’s a crapshoot, and you’ve already not washed your hair and you’re stuck with too-greasy or too-dry hair, but this one was just right.

So Bailey and I got extra snuggles in.

Work was good.

I walked over to Chelsea Market to grab lunch, and LIGHTS WERE UP. It looked gorgeous, and it made me so happy.

So did listening to the Elf soundtrack on Spotify all morning.

On that Will Ferrell tangent…I bought the Anchorman 2 Superticket TO SEE IT TWO DAYS BEFORE THE PREMIERE and I get an early download of the sequel before it comes out on DVD!

OH HELL YES.

And then I went over to a work event at Chelsea Piers put on by Active.

We learned running form from Daniel Rivera, one of the triathlon coaches at Chelsea Piers. I leaned like a champ.

We practiced what we learned with some intervals. While everyone else groaned, I was PSYCHED.

I also was happy with my times. We did 4 x 400 with a 200 recovery between each 400. We were supposed to do them at 5K pace, or 75% effort, then 80% effort, then 90% effort, then all-out. 1:55, 1:44, 1:41, 1:34. Oh. hell. yes. I was really excited to see that all of the intervals other than the first were at less than a 7:00 pace. I don’t care if that was only for less than 2 minutes!

And then I came home and the maintenance guy was able to fish out the charm from my Erica Sara necklace that I thought I’d lost forever down the abyss of my bathroom sink drain. I love that man forever and ever.

Not bad for a Tuesday!

How was your Tuesday?

  • Sounds like an awesome Tuesday! Mine was great too. Today was my twin girls 5th birthday. I spent all day with them so it was really special :-)

  • That is a good Tuesday! I hate Tuesdays because the weekend high is gone and we aren't even halfway through the week so a good Tuesday always helps things. I really like these types of posts about more day in the life stuff!

  • Not a shabby Tuesday for sure! Love seeing you doing so well :):)
PS: Chelsea market looks beyond picturesque!

  • Sometimes I feel like I need to write more "quality" posts too, but I actually really love just reading about someone's day! Sounds like you had a great one :) Amazing job on those 400s!!
