Why Fall Cycling is the Best Cycling

Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Target® C9 through their partnership with POPSUGAR Select. While I was compensated to write a post about Target® C9, all opinions are my own.

As the summer comes to a close, I am SAD! I’m blond, I love the beach and the sun. I’m just a summer girl at heart. (This is in direct conflict with my go-go-go NYC personality, I realize.)

The days are slowly getting shorter, and I’m trying my best to get as many outdoor workouts in as possible before I have to take it inside. I want as much Vitamin D as possible before the sun hides for the winter.

Though riding my bike for training over the summer was a little stressful, I’m using this summer-to-fall transition to build confidence in the saddle. (Also, I’m using my bottle cage for iced coffee, which must have been its original intended use, no?)

It’s the perfect summer-to-fall activity because when it’s hot, feeling some breeze as you ride is the next best thing to hopping in a pool. And if it ever cools down, there’s nothing like that crisp morning breeze and the crunch of the leaves beneath your wheels to wake you up in the morning.

AND it’s the perfect opportunity to shop for those summer-to-fall workout pieces, and I’m dying to get out to Jersey (yes, really) to hit up Target® for some of the really cute C9 stuff they have right now.

Like this hooded pullover? It’s the perfect transition piece: summer to fall, workout to brunch. (Or, I guess even a bike-to-run transition if you’re into that.)

A few years ago, some blog friends and I went up to Mohegan Sun and did some bike riding around Mystic. If you’re in the Northeast, leaf-peeping via bike = highly recommended. Or vineyard touring.

What are your favorite ways to stay active as the seasons change?

  • In the fall, I would prefer to be outside all day, every day. I think I'll head to Mystic soon for a biking adventure. It's so beautiful there! Any recommendations on where to ride? Did you find nice trails or bike along the street? Thanks for the suggestion. Also, that hoodie is adorable. I'd totally wear it!

  • I'm assuming the disclosure says that this is the C9 target post that people have fun right now, but fyi the under armour ad is blocking it, so I can't actually read the discloser...not the point. the point is....ICED COFFEE FITS IN MY CAGE?! Testing immediately. Wish I had known this last weekend when I rode 50 miles. (my butt hurt for two days afterwards).
