Eileen: You can’t “diet” and then just go back to regularly scheduled programming. You need to eat healthily and learn how much of the bad stuff you can eat without tipping the scale.
Me: Yeah, I’m still working on learning the second half myself!
Eileen: Well, yeah. It’s not easy. But I think you have come a long way, and [you have] self control. [You] just have to keep reminding yourself of that.

Thanks, Eiballs. Most of the time, it’s relatively easy to stick with the healthy stuff. If I’m cooking or if I go out to eat, it’s easy to pick the healthy stuff. Add alcohol? Self-restraint with food becomes a major battle.
Most of the time the not-so-healthy stuff either doesn’t taste so good to me or I know it’s not worth it for having to worry about if it will be reflected on the scale, or if I’ll be dragging the next day.
I just need to keep asking myself, “Is it really worth it?” I think most of the time it won’t.
I think some pasta and birthday cake on Thursday? WORTH IT.
