Boring title, but no hyperbole needed here.
After my run, I met up with Jen, my college roomie, for brunch. We went to Kitchenette, a cozy little restaurant in Tribeca.
I got the Lumberjack breakfast—scrambled eggs, two whole-wheat pancakes with strawberry butter (yeah. YUM.) and turkey sausage—per my usual there.
Jen and I have known each other since we were wee college freshmen—NINE years ago. (What??!?!) We don’t see as much of each other as either of us would like to, but when we do see each other, it’s so nice to spend time with someone who knows me so well. We talked about maybe taking a photography class together—but Jen has a film SLR and I have a D-SLR, so I feel like it might be difficult for us to find a class that can accommodate both of us. But we will!
Afterwards, I met up with Holly and Chaz, who were in town for Holly’s birthday, for a drink in their hotel lobby. When they left to catch their bus back to D.C., I just walked—something I haven’t done for a while. I took a few pictures, most of which turned out pretty crappy. Here’s a decent one showing the gorgeous day in NYC.
By the way, if you’re curious how beer is made, my HLS roomie Kate had an awesome post the other day about our trip to the Goose Island brewery in Chicago. I never wrote that detailed of a post because I was trying to change my flight while the guide explained, so I just drank instead. I was okay with that, too.
