There have already been others who said it better than me, so I’m not going to try to wax poetic about this event, but I participated in this tonight in Central Park with what seemed like almost every runner in NYC that I know.
Thanks to Pavement Runner for starting the movement; thanks to Abby for organizing the NYC one. (Sidenote: I talked to Abby the other day at Lululemon run club, and she is a truly wonderful person with a ginormous heart.)
Great turnout!
Abby said a few words, asked us to observe a moment of silence and then sent us off.
I ran with Emily and Kathleen and we did the bottom part of the loop, part of the Reservoir and back around the West Side.
Wonderful idea, wonderful night for a run.
I went to a run in Baltimore tonight for Boston. Truly amazing how supportive runners are!
To see 123 groups on the pavement runner site is amazing.
I live in the UK and our great London marathon has just taken place with Manchester to follow. Thankfully like yours they were safe places to be but all our thoughts are with Boston at this sad time.
There were a couple of runs in Milwaukee for Boston as well. I couldn’t get out of work in time to make it though. It was fun seeing people in Boston gear afterwards.
Looks like a great event! I just got back from London so I’m going to do a fundraiser run for the Richards Family tomorrow morning in Central Park, seems like another great event to help in a small way:
