FitnessGlo Review (and Giveaway!): Or, That Time I Worked Out In the Driveway of the Beach House with Some Audio Yelling At Me

Disclosure: What follows is a sponsored post for FitnessGlo.

While at the beach last week, my friend Chaz came back from running some errands and walked outside to where the other guys were attempting to set up their own makeshift heater/siphoning system to get the hot water from the hot tub to the pool and asked where everyone was.

“Sarah and Tina are at the beach, and Theo’s working out in the driveway to some audio yelling at her.”

They couldn’t see my iPad, but it was propped up on the back of Sarah’s car, and I was doing a FitnessGlo workout. I actually joined their yoga site, YogaGlo, a few months ago, to have some awesome options for at-home yoga, so I was excited to have the opportunity to try out FitnessGlo for a review.

The site has a really clean layout, and it’s easy to navigate. Their goal is to make fitness simple, which I think so many people forget–and which is easy to when you’re reading about so many different styles of workouts on blogs and want to try them all. (Just me?)

You can choose by style, teacher, level and duration and then further drill down.

For example, at the beach, I knew I wanted an intense workout because I was feeling a little soft in my bathing suit, so I looked for a 30-minute HIIT class and got the HIIT class above.

I also love that you can pick classes as short as five or ten minutes, which is great for a quick stretch or a little core work. (Things I’m not likely to do unless someone is telling me what to do.) On their yoga site, you can also pick from short meditations or short sequences for specific reasons, such as relaxation. /endtangent

I do wish you could sort by equipment or no equipment, though. The HIIT workout, for example, used weights, and I somehow forgot to throw a set of dumbbells into my beach bag.

The site also has a “Balance Tracker” which helps you track the balance of strength/cardio/stretching you’re doing. You can manually add your other workouts, so it takes into account more than just the FitnessGlo workouts you’re doing.

The golden blog review question: would I pay for this with my own cash money? Absolutely. I like the workouts and the ease of the site. It’s $12 a month, which is a fabulous price, and everyone gets a free 15-day trial. I’ve used it on my iPad, but you can also use it on an iPhone, stream it with an AppleTV (yes, I worship at the temple of Apple) or just use it on a computer.

And one of you gets a free 90-day membership! Comment below to tell me about the kinds of at-home workouts you do, and if you do better with someone telling you what to do or if you’re good at doing a workout on your own. Me? I will pin workouts until the cows come home, but I think I have actually done maybe…2 of them?

My coffee celebrated this morning too.

Coffee, running and pint glasses all make me happy.

Here’s som more running stuff that makes me happy.

Clockwise from top:

Neutrogena Wet Skin Spray Sunblock: This stuff SAVED me at Zooma. I didn’t get burnt in my 2+ hours in the sun, and it never felt super gloppy. Technical term.

New Balance 1400s: I’ve written about my love for these shoes before. They are my jam, baby. Not too lightweight, not too cushy. Just a nice, lightweight ride. (I’ve gotten them free, but I would pay for them in a hot second.)

Erica Sara Designs Race Bling: I have one of these charms for each marathon, and I rarely take this necklace off. It reminds me of what I’ve accomplished that I never thought I could. Also, it’s pretty. And Erica is my friend, and she’s awesome.

Sparkly Soul: These headbands are just cute, and sparkles make me happy. Happy people don’t shoot their husbands.

In the spirit of National Running Day, I also wanted to share some deals I’ve heard about:

Erica is running a giveaway AND giving a discount – deets here.

Rock ‘n’ Roll is offering $20 off all races today!

Sparkly Soul is giving a 15% discount of all headbands with the code RUNNINGDAY.

And a great giving back thing: (Taken from Julie’s Instagram ) #IMARUNNER (FYI: For every Instagram pic or tweet that includes the#IMARUNNER hashtag, Timex will donate $5 -up to $15k- to the One Fund Boston to help those affected by the bombings at the Boston Marathon.)

Did you celebrate this awesome made-up holiday today? I did! A nice 4-miler this morning!
