Tonight, I had a Junior League meeting at one of our committee member’s apartments. Her apartment was CRAZY. It’s a three-story apartment with a circular staircase connecting the three floors, and one of the bedrooms is a loft bedroom. Just know that this isn’t normal in Manhattan. (Like most New Yorkers, I’m obsessed w/seeing others’ apartments.)
As we usually do for our off-site meetings, we ordered a pizza. I ate some broccoli and carrots on the side, but I’m under no illusion that they really made my dinner much healthier. I’ve been craving pizza since I moved, so it was good to finally have it.
The RealFeel temperature in NYC right now is -3. I’m currently looking at Bailey and asking him if he really needs to go out. Tomorrow’s supposed to feel like 12 degrees. HEAT WAVE! (Is it summer yet?)
For me, feeling “guilty” about eating something unhealthy often just leads to more unhealthy choices. And while I definitely want to maintain my weight loss, I know that a few weeks of not thinking as much about what I’m eating won’t erase all my hard work and is a nice reprieve for my mind.
I haven’t been running as much because of the cold (excuses, excuses), and I know that’s a part of the reason I feel “off track.” I have a 15K this weekend that I haven’t really trained for in the past few weeks. I’m still going to run it, but I really need to get some longer races on the calendar to prepare for and motivate me. I’m waiting to hear about the NYC Half-Marathon lottery tomorrow, and I have another race on my mind…I’ll make a decision soon and announce it here!
For now, I’m braving the cold for a quick lunchtime visit to the gym.
Why don’t you go check out the new Live Well tab on the Woman’s Day and Eggland’s Best Facebook pages?
This is a project I’ve been working on for a few months, and I’m glad it launched! Tina from Carrots ‘n’ Cake will be moderating the tab. I love when I can mix my work and personal life! (I first met Tina when a group of bloggers went to watch Caitlin of Healthy Tipping Point/Operation Beautiful on the Today Show.) She’s as awesome in person as she is on her blog, so I’m glad to be working with her!
