Last night, Leah and I talked about my out-of-control hunger as of late. She suggested that I try a more protein-heavy breakfast rather than the carb-heavy breakfasts I’ve been having. So I made an omelet this morning with a little bit of Mexican cheese and some spinach.

A very happy Veterans Day to all those who have served our country…but especially to:

  • my grandpa, who was a pilot in World War II who got shot down, was captured and served as a prisoner of war for a year. Once he was finally released, he weighed less than 100 pounds. Not one to let a little P.O.W. experience get him down, he came back and founded a very successful textile mill.
  • my dad, who served as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam (and later ended up running said textile mill.)

I can almost count on one hand the number of times I’ve eaten until I felt disgustingly full since I started this blog. Two of those times were the past two nights. I have been ravenously hungry when I get home from work and eating too much. Maybe I’m eating too quickly, maybe I’m not eating enough vegetables. Tonight I had some spinach and meatballs over whole-wheat pasta. When I finished, I was still hungry, so I had another piece of chicken. And now I feel so unbelievably full, and it’s not a good feeling. Tomorrow is another day.
