Happy Thanksgiving!

It’s not an Italian Thanksgiving without antipasto. (Last year, my dad said he was pro-pasta.)The turkey knows.I had to fight the turkey for the wine. But I won.Stuffing! Thanks to Alexis for sharing this recipe. Stuffing’s my favorite, so I decided to give it a try this year, and I love how it turned out.And yes, it’s not an Italian Thanksgiving without some spaghetti and meatballs. No pics of dessert because by then I was beat from a day of eating. I could lift my fork to my mouth; not my camera to my eyes.

Last night, Leah and I talked about my out-of-control hunger as of late. She suggested that I try a more protein-heavy breakfast rather than the carb-heavy breakfasts I’ve been having. So I made an omelet this morning with a little bit of Mexican cheese and some spinach.

A very happy Veterans Day to all those who have served our country…but especially to:

  • my grandpa, who was a pilot in World War II who got shot down, was captured and served as a prisoner of war for a year. Once he was finally released, he weighed less than 100 pounds. Not one to let a little P.O.W. experience get him down, he came back and founded a very successful textile mill.
  • my dad, who served as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam (and later ended up running said textile mill.)
