SnOMG

I stepped out of my Junior League meeting at nearly 10pm tonight and discovered it was snowing. When I got home, I ordered sushi.

I usually hate snow. Somehow, the past few years when it’s snowed, I’ve been out in NJ for various reasons, and thus, totally snowbound. Growing up, it almost always snowed on my birthday, canceling my birthday party.

But tomorrow (should it continue), I have nowhere to be but on my couch, in my PJs, with my fluffy dog and my laptop, working from home. If at night, I want to play, I can.

Right now, I’m just looking out the window at the whiteout conditions. I can usually see the bright lights of buildings against the night sky, but all I can see now are pockets of lights against the fog.

Little Cheese Pub!

This afternoon, I met Taurra for lunch. We’ve been following each other on Tumblr for quite a while, and when I saw the other day that she’d be in NYC this weekend, I told her we had to meet up! Taurra’s getting her masters at American, where I went to undergrad, and she hopes to one day move to NYC, so between Tumblr, AU, DC and NYC, we had a ton to talk about.

I wanted to take her somewhere cute (that I could walk to), so I decided we should go somewhere in Chelsea. I know Emily lives in the area and loves the restaurants in her ‘hood, so I asked her for a few suggestions. The Little Cheese Pub was one of her suggestions, and I remembered her blogging about it quite a few times, so to Little Cheese (hi, cheese in the name + diminutive? How could I not?) it was.

I got the baked eggs with chicken sausage. I was actually still pretty full from my oats, so I mostly just ate the pieces of sausage wrapped in egg and poked at the rest.

Afterwards, I walked over to Whole Foods to stock up on lots of veggies—asparagus, kale, spinach, zucchini, spinach, etc.

One day I’ll go into a grocery store with recipes or a plan of meals for the week.

Today wasn’t one of those days.
