I read a quote yesterday that said something like “Discipline is overlooking immediate gratification for the long term goal.” I might get a tattoo of that. Lately I have been slipping when in social situations, thinking “oh, a few drinks/fries/lobster rolls/fill in the blank” won’t hurt me. Well, no, but they don’t help either, and at this point aren’t really worth it to me. About 2 weeks ago, I weighed 164 fully clothed at the gym. This week, I can only get 165 naked after going to the bathroom. I’m PMSing, so I will blame it on that, but not use it as an excuse. I’m going to a bachelorette party this weekend and, lots of booze be damned, I will stick to my goals!
