So I had a Debbie Downer post up before that I quickly took down. I was in a bad mood/sick/my back hurt, and I just wasn’t feeling New Year’s.
A nice answer to a question I posed in that post turned things around, and I got my nails done, bought some champagne and now am getting ready to party like a rockstar. After all…
THIS WAS THE YEAR I DID IT!
I lost 47 pounds!
January 1 of last year, I said I was going to do it. I started going back to the gym. I even remember calling up to reserve a bike in spin class, being told class was full, and saying to my coworkers, “How am I ever going to keep up a resolution if they won’t let me in to spin class?”
Things quickly went downhill from there. Until February 17, when I turned my life around by showing up for my first training session with Joel. Since then, I’ve burned approximately a gazillion calories, losing 47 pounds in the process. I’ve run 2 5Ks, a 10K, a 15K and a 10-miler! I wore bikinis in Aruba. I wasn’t the fat bridesmaid. I made lots of friends and dated lots of guys (!). I got an article published for a magazine I’ve always wanted to write for. Mostly importantly, I learned about myself.
So now, I’m going to take all that learning and shake my booty on the dance floor!
