It’s the Freakin’ Weekend, Baby…

…I’m about to have me some fun. Or, I had me some fun.

Last night, I headed out for my friend Abby’s bachelorette party. She’s getting married in St. Lucia (!) in a few weeks. Unfortunately, I decided that wasn’t quite in my budget right now, so I’m not going, but I did help her celebrate one last night out as a single lady.

We started at Tortilla Flats, a fun Mexican restaurant in the Village. I had some chicken fajitas, per my usual Mexican fare. (Aside from salad, it’s among the healthier things you can get if you stay away from the cheese and sour cream, which I did.)

This morning, I some friends at Columbus Circle so we could head up to the Bronx Botanical Gardens to see the orchid show.

My friend brought me a bagel. I wouldn’t say I felt guilty about it per se, but I did realize I haven’t been eating as well lately as I usually do, so when I got back, I went for a run over the Brooklyn Bridge and back — my default I-haven’t-been-running-in-a-while-and-want-an-awesome-route run, I don’t want to overdo it. I ran straight to Just Salad to get a salad on my way back. I don’t often get salads because they usually bother my stomach, but I figured I’d give it a try tonight, since I’m not going anywhere. I got a pesto chicken salad with broccoli, sundried tomatoes and chickpeas.
