Today, my plan called for a one-mile time trial. I don’t think I’d run just one mile since huffing and puffing through the mile in middle school, so I was ridiculously excited to see what I could bust out for just one mile.
I don’t usually curse on my blog, and I don’t usually post pictures of my Garmin, but I think we can agree this is worth breaking both of those rules, right?
Because this? This is fucking awesome. If my plan is right, and as my fitness improves, my time will decrease, I would LOVE to break a 6-minute mile–which I NEVER would have thought possible.
BRB inputting this into as many race calculators as possible.
That’s freaking awesome!!!!!! congrats!
haha, that is fucking awesome! Way to go! I need to do this soon 🙂
GO YOU! I’d drop a lot more than one f bomb in excitement over that!
That’s fucking awesome! Where did you do it?
@Ash Bear: Madison Square Park. It’s exactly 1/2 mile around, so I just did two loops!
That is so AWESOME!!!! Do the Fifth Avenue Mile and make it an official time! I’m thinking of spectating at that race (or at least part of it). It would be great to have someone to root for. I’d make a sign, but at your pace, you wouldn’t even see it. 🙂
Congratulations!!!
@Linda: OOOH. I’ve always had some sort of conflict, but I don’t think I do this year!!!!
Nice job!!!!
That’s amazing! Great job!!!
WHOOOHOOOO!! This is absolutely awesome!!!!! Congrats, Theodora!!! =) =) =)
You are awesome and an inspiration! You should totally drop more than one F bomb for such a great accomplishment!
Nice! I hated running the mile in gym (I think we had to do it through HS). I never thought about this, but I suppose one day – once I’m speedy like you – I could head back to my HS track and conquer that old demon.
Can’t wait to see what your time is next month!
That is freaking fast! Amazing!! Congrats 🙂
That’s amazing! Oh my gosh. That is so fast. I can’t wait to read your post about running a sub 6:00 minute mile.
There is no polite way to say this – holy sh*t that is ridiculously fast.
Olympics 2016?
Wow, wow, wow. That is damn impressive!
That’s crazy fast!! I’ve broken 7, but not terribly often!
GOOD LORD, SPEEDY LADY!
That’s awesome! 🙂
Dang girl!! Congrats! (By the way totally worth the swearing and Garmin picture). 😉
dang that fast! and what a great goal!! Speedy legs are hot!
I still have your first walking shoes!
I looked at them this morning, and cryed!
So happy for your accomplishments!!
i just said “holy shit” aloud at my desk. that is incredible! my best mile time is 6:59 and that was in eighth grade. yeah, still holding onto the glory days.
Nice!!! You need to do the Fifth Avenue Mile race, it’s usually in the fall. I’ve done it twice and it’s so much fun. No timing chips, just a bunch of women lined up at the start line like we’re racing in the Olympics and running balls out down 5th for a mile. I think still to this day it was the fastest I ever ran a mile, and not as fast as you! Congrats!
Go girl!!! That’s awesome! I’ve never timed myself in a mile. I’m curious what it would be.
Whoa baby!!! That is so awesome-great work! I think my fastest mile is about 2 minutes slower than that!!! I guess I have something to work toward! : )
That is pretty freaking amazing!!! Makes me want to start doing monthly time trials.
That is so fast! Congrats. What a great way of testing your fitness changes while training for the marathon. I might have to add that in to my training for fun!
Wow! That’s absolutely freaking amazing!
Holy shit, nice job!
Woooo hooo Get it Girl!
F-bomb and garmin shot totally forgiven!!!! Wow wow wow
WOOOOOOO! KILL THAT MILE.
That’s so awesome! Great job!!! Madison Square Park was my park (since it was across the street from where I used to work!). I miss NYC! Keep up the pace and you’ll hit your mark. 🙂
That is amazing! Way to go!!!
That is badass!!
Holy guacamole! Amazing!
dang girl, you a speed demon!
That is pretty fucking awesome! Holy shit! My fastest mile is exactly 8 minutes. I was running on the treadmill at a 1% incline going for that very goal, and had done so many times before, but finally got it one day. Have I run an 8 min mile since then? No, because I was only trying to get there, I don’t really like running haha. Just wanted to say I could do it. But a sub 7 minute mile is pretty damn amazing. Good job! It’s so exciting that you can take this to the race calcs 😀
OMG that fucking rocks the bells! You go girl!!
Holy cow that is AWESOME! Go you! You just inspired to haul my butt to the gym after work today.
BTW – nice meeting you at BlogHer this weekend. We sat next to each other at the Pinterest/Google+/Instagram session. I love your blog!
