Toto, I am not in NYC any more. These are goats. At first I felt bad for them being stuck in this little pen, but they get to eat all day and stare at the ocean, so their lives are still pretty awesome.
This afternoon, most of our group of 9 headed out for some island exploration. My new BFF Molly and I stuck to hanging around the house and neighborhood instead of being on a schedule. It was wonderful. I love active vacations and being busy and sightseeing, but I also love just hanging out and seeing where the day will take me.
Today it took us to Deep Water Grill for lunch.
Look, it’s not a taco! And vegetables! …and Carib, obviously.
I’ll write more next year (that never ceases to sound weird on December 31) about some reflections on 2012 and some looking ahead to 2013 (#bloggercliche) and more about vacation, but I can’t imagine a better way to end the year than surrounded by friends new and old, in a place where the pace is significantly slower in NYC and where people don’t look at me weird for wearing resortwear.
