This morning, it was really freaking cold. I did not want to run, so I tried to read the entire Internet.
I didn’t quite get there, but I did stumble upon some awesome videos from BexLife on YouTube and decided to make a video myself once I finally came home from my run this afternoon.
Super-sexy screengrab.
Here’s a link to a post I wrote a few years ago about winter running, and below are the links to the products I mentioned:
Do you run outside in the cold, or do you stick to the treadmill? I’m about half and half; I’ll do short runs on the treadmill in the winter, but my long runs must must must be outside, as I go nuts after more than 45-50 minutes on a treadmill.
That flip belt intrigues me. Nice vlog
That flipbelt shot was kind of hilarious, because I kind of half-expected “… And here’s my umbrella! And a sandwich!” a la Mary Poppin’s purse.
The flipbelt is intriguing. I like my Nathan Shadow Pak and it was perfect for my iPhone 4, but since I the 5 it’s a bit snug if I want to put the house key and chapstick in there as well, let alone any Gu. But really, on to more important things–tell us about your nail polish. 🙂
Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees! OPI!
love flipbelt used mine for the 2nd time today on my long run – got the discount of Tina’s Blog.
Agreed on running outside vs. treadmill – long runs outside/short and speedwork treadmill
ran 8 miles this am around the park and there were a ton of runners it wasn’t as bad as a thought until i finished and my foot is in unbearable pain. i’m hoping this is fixable as i want to PR in March. 🙁 injury + training = angry me.
Oh no 🙁 Hope your foot gets better!
I love that headband! I can’t find it online – what style is it? And thanks for the vlog – it was great!
Found it! http://shop.lululemon.com/products/clothes-accessories/bright-at-night/Womens-Brisk-Run-Headband-31194?cc=2228&sli=1
Perfect timing I was just trying to figure out a good running tight. I like the jacket too but it is not available. Bummer. The flip belt is intriguing! Thanks!
Okay i just searched and searched for the jacket. No luck. Any ideas or tips? How do the pants fit true to size? I think I saw m but no s. one review said they were baggy but hard to know on a new brand. Any nb shopping advice would be awesome.
I know it’s out of stock on newbalance.com but think it’s available in stores still and just saw it on Amazon: http://amzn.to/WFvBUo
Yeah–they do run a bit big. I wear a small in them, and I wear a medium in other New Balance bottoms.
@Theodora: thanks!
@Jenny: I forgot to ask what size do you wear in the flip belt. I am so intrigued.
It’s a medium and I wear it around my hips.
the vlog was great! I don’t think I’ve ever purchased something from a vlog review, but I suddenly feel compelled to get that headband… maybe the flip belt. I never run further than 2 miles from home, so I usually travel light 😉 xx
Great vLog! Keep the reviews and vlogs coming. I am definitely going to get the Flipbelt! You look great and congratulations on your 7 mile run! Thank you for the review.
Hi cousin 🙂 Thanks!
Great vlog! Thanks for sharing!!! I’m a huge weanie so I don’t like being outside in super hot or super cold or super windy, etc. weather. Ugh…
I just got those tights!! They are on sale on the website… Can’t wait to try them 🙂
I am no fan of winter running but really i hate a dreadmill, so its out i go! I actually dont really mind winter running until it is really cold like it has been this week- once you hit low twenties/teens and wind, i’m out! Into the pool for me 🙂 when i do venture out i bundle up- i “run cold” so yesterday i wore two hats, long sleeve tight tech shirt, long sleeve winter shell, fleece lined tights (love!!), thick balga socks and my winteriest gloves. Plus a scarf around my chin and lips.
I have tried lots of belts but have yet to find one i like. I like to run with as little as possible and mostly need a place for multiple gus on long runs. That sucker looks great!
Warmer weather ths week- yes!!!!
I am exactly the same about not being able to stand more than a 40-50 minutes on the treadmill!
Was PSYCHED to hear you mention sunscreen in your VLOG – I was diagnosed with type 1 melanoma this fall – at the age of 30 – and I’d love to get more runners aware that they need to protect their skin when they’re outside, as well as getting frequent skin screenings. Those long runs add up!
I would say I am half/half too, short runs or speed workouts on the treadmill and longer runs outside. I tend to get warm on my torso but my legs and face stay cold almost no matter what!
