Team Portion Control

I’m going to skip breakfast because I really couldn’t bring myself to take another picture of an English muffin with a banana. (So, when I make my own food, you get more boring posts, but I save more money. Sorry.)

After being successful bringing my lunch for four days in a row, I decided it was time for takeout and went to Qdoba. I saw a few weeks ago that they have a Grab 2 promotion—like a soup/sandwich combo, but with Mexican food. WIN.

I got two soft chicken tacos (does ANYONE really like hard tacos? Anyone? Bueller?) and their Mexican gumbo. I got a little bit of both things that I wanted, and so I was satisfied.

I think he wants a taco, too.

Sick Dog

🙁

I woke up this morning to a sick little pup, so I’m currently working from home and keeping an eye on him. While the circumstances aren’t ideal, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t happy to be sitting on the couch next to him right now.

I was going to have a sunflower butter sandwich, but my sunflower butter is currently in my desk drawer, so I pulled out a jar of almond butter I had in the back of the fridge, and used that to make my banana sandwich.

You probably can’t see it, but on that yellow banner under the name, it says “What Almond Butter Should Be.”

If that’s what almond butter should be, then I don’t like almond butter. (Since I thought I was allergic to all nuts until this fall, this is actually the only AB I’ve ever had.) This particular almond butter is partially thick, partially gooey—in all the wrong places. What’s the next almond butter I should try? (Or other nut butters other than peanut—I’m still allergic to peanuts.)

I am way behind in my ask box, but I’m trying to get to them:

cabtosuburbia asked:I have two questions: First off, I saw sunflower seed butter in the store today and I know you tend to use it a lot in your breakfasts… would you compare it to peanut butter? Or as a spread like actual butter?

To most of you this will sound really weird: I’m not really sure about the texture of peanut butter, as I’ve always been allergic to it. I think it’s pretty thick and gooey, though, right? Sunflower seed butter is a little thinner, I think, and more easy to spread. (Technically, it’s called a spread.)

Second, what kind of dog is Bailey? He looks poodle-y. I have a Bichon but want something bigger (she is only 17lbs) and poodle-y.

Yes, he is part poodle! He’s supposedly lhasa apso and poodle, but I think there may be some Havanese in him, too. What do you think?
