Back in sneaks!

This morning, I slept in until after 11. It was glorious.

I had to drop Bailey off at the groomer and get him some food, so I decided that today was as good a time as any to get back in my running sneakers. After training for 18 weeks for a marathon, running on a weekend morning is such a part of my routine that it would have felt weird not to, anyway.

I couldn’t find my sneaks (but that’s another story), so I threw on an old pair and went for about 3.5 miles over the Brooklyn Bridge and back. My Garmin is still misbehaving, so, again, I used it as an expensive stopwatch. I kind of wish I had brought it to the expo last weekend to have the Garmin folks look at it, like E did, but alas, I did not.

The run was fine, save for the million tourists on the bridge, but I expected that. It cleared out my sinuses a bit more. Now, I’m back to resting.

Breakfast pre-run was banana on top of an English muffin with almond butter.

Cough medicine revelations: cooking isn’t that hard.

I’m looking through some of my favorite foodie blogs and realizing that it really just comes down to the ingredients you have on hand. Since most of my grocery lists, well, don’t exist, I don’t usually end up with the ingredients fun meals are made of. I’m going to use all this downtime to make a damn good grocery list for next week. [Wow, I’m a dork.]

And eat more popsicles.

Dinner: soba noodles with stir-fried broccoli and green peppers with one of the chicken patties on top. I stir-fried the veggies with some sesame oil and some gluten-free tamari sauce left over from my celiac scare. (I don’t have it! I don’t have it!)
