Last night, I went to Buttermilk Channel, a simple-yet-elegant restaurant in Brooklyn that serves up comfort food with a twist. This blurry photo you see is duck meatloaf with a fried onion on top. If I see duck or scallops on a menu, I will usually order it. Buttermilk Channel had BOTH!

I ultimately chose the duck because, well, have you ever heard of duck meatloaf? It was every bit as good as it sounds. We started with the sweet potato and goat cheese croquettes (also, OMG) and split an arugula salad. I had a few dark and stormies with dinner, and I went to sleep smiling after a great week and a great meal.
