It’s My BIrthday, and We All Get Presents!

(It’s my birthday and I’ll post my baby photos if I want to, too.)

So, I made it up to Vermont, and I’m about to get ready for an awesome day of birthday skiing, but I wanted to share the celebration with you, too. I did this last year, and it was a lot of fun.

Because no good birthday is complete without dragging it out as long as possible, I’m going to be doing a giveaway today and one next week.

So, you know how I love sunflower butter? And some of you wonder what the hell it is? Well, I’ve contacted the lovely Sunbutter folks, and they’ve agreed to give away three jars of Sunbutter!

How to enter:

Leave a comment telling me: what you would use sunflower butter for, why you need sunflower butter, what your favorite birthday treat is, your favorite way to celebrate your birthday or your favorite ski area.

For bonus entries:

– Like Losing Weight in the City on Facebook (side note: does anyone know how to update Networked Blogs? It’s not pulling in my latest posts.)

– Tweet: It’s @tblanchfield’s birthday and she’s sharing the love! Come check out her giveaway at www.losingweightinthecity.com

– Add my RSS feed! This is basically a free entry, since it’s moved and you have to update it anyway.

– If you have a blog, add me to your blog roll!

(If you’ve done one of the bonus entries, please leave a comment here telling me you’ve done so.)

This contest closes at 5pm EST on today, my birthday, February 11! I’ll try to pick the winners tonight.

OK, sure! I wouldn’t mind using sunflower butter to make banana-english muffin-sunflower sammies like you do. I am also peanut-allergic, so I need it because, well, it’s either that or my sandwich will not be sticky? My favorite way to celebrate my birthday is hanging out with a big group of family and friends at my place, and I’ve only skiied a few places, but Roundtop Mountain Resort is right in my town and it’s not too bad for beginners.

I already liked you on FB, resubscribed via Google Reader, and I tweeted!

I love to spend my birthday with my family! The past two years my parents came up here to spend the weekend with me, and this year I’ll probably go visit my sister at college and go to my first college football game! (My school didn’t have a team, and my sister will be a senior next year – my last chane to root for her team.)

I also resubscribed to your blog this morning.

Happy Birthday!! I would probably just sub out sunflower butter for the peanut or almond butter I regularly spread on english muffins, pieces of toast, or maybe try a scoopful in some oats!

Happy Birthday! I’m trying to wean my husband off of regular peanut butter (hydrogenated oils and all), so I’d love to see if he would eat sunflower butter instead! My favorite birthday treat is Swiss Cake Rolls for breakfast, the one time I year I eat them at all! I re-subscribed to your feed also 🙂

Happy, happy birthday! After finding out earlier this week that I need to avoid peanut products, I am excited to try out the different arrays of nut butters that are available. I’m already a huge fan of almond butter and would love to have another option to increase my breakfast protein and add to yogurt or oats.

Great giveaway! I’ve never had sunflower butter. I wonder if I’d love it with apple slices like I do almond and peanut butter…

    Happy Birthday

I have never tried sunflower butter either, but after hearing the hype about it on different blogs, I would love to give it a try! Especially on a sandwich or with apple slices. Maybe drizzled in oatmeal.

Favorite birthday treat: chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, hands down! Favorite way to celebrate my birthday? With all the people I love 🙂

    Happy Birthday! Enjoy Vermont 🙂

Happy Birthday! I’d love to use sunflower butter to spice up my oatmeal/yogurt routine. I need some because I’ve never tried it before and don’t want to invest unless I’m sure I’ll like it! My favorite birthday treat is some classic chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream, and I love to celebrate my summer birthday at the beach with my family!

First off, Happy Birthday! Second, thank you! I’ve been reading your blog for a while now (yay, tumbler!) and have started practicing some of your weight loss tips. I went back and read your posts from the very beginning. You are quite the inspiration.

Since reading you blog I have wanted to try sunflower butter as I am not a huge fan of peanut butter. However, it is quite expensive in my grocery store and I didn’t want to spend that much just to try it. I would use the sunflower butter in my morning oatmeal. I never really liked oatmeal but gave it another try (because of your blog and how much you like it) with peanut butter and frozen berries and I am hooked. Would love to try some with the sunflower butter.

Have a great ski trip and keep up the great work on your blog.

Happy Birthday!! My favorite birthday treat has to be ice cream cake. But it has to be the ice cream cake with ice cream and actual cake in it. Chocolate cake with chocolate chip ice cream!! yums!!

Happy birthday, and congrats on the impressive weight loss! I’ve never had sunflower butter before, but I like most nut butters I’ve had. Sounds like it would make a great healthy breakfast on bread or toast (especially before a race or running in general) because it gives you a good mix of protein, fat, and carbs.

Enjoy Vermont! I don’t ski, but I have family there and love visiting.
