D.C. Half Marathon Expo

After a long night on a video shoot, I should have gone to sleep early. I had to wake up early to take the bus down to D.C. with Ashley and Ali. But Ashley, who had to wake up early for the same bus to run the same race went out for a drink…so I met her out for a late-night drink. You’re only young once.

I woke up bright and early to meet them at the bus stop at 8 for an 8:30 bus, and it took us five hours to get down here, reminding me why I usually take the train down. After seven years of doing that drive a few times a year, I can look out the window at any point and know exactly where I am and how much longer I have left.

I had an everything bagel with sunflower butter on the bus, and it made me very happy. Obviously.

We got in around 1:15 and Tamsin picked us up from Union Station. After fighting with those damn state streets (if you’ve ever been to D.C. or live here, you know what I mean. They throw off the whole grid.) we dropped Ashley and Ali’s stuff off at their hotel and headed to the expo at the D.C. Armory. The expo was big but not particularly awesome, like the Chicago Marathon expo.

We stopped at Molly Malone’s for a late lunch/dinner #1. I had chicken fingers and some fries because they seemed to be the blandest on the menu. Tamsin and I split up with Ashley and Ali and ended up going over to see Annie, who is due to have her first baby TOMORROW!

We went to Bertucci’s for dinner and I went with a nice plain spaghetti and meatballs. Now I need to rest for my race!
