Today I met someone I’ve been following on Tumblr for a long time: Valerie!
I can’t remember exactly how we started following each other (or when I started with such a severe side part), but we quickly realized how much we had in common: former reporters, [something I won’t blog about], trying to lose weight, being awesome. We became fast gchat buddies, and talk probably almost every workday.
Yet I had never met her in person! She’s up in NYC this week in between jobs, and we finally met for lunch today at Eatery.
They brought us out some sort of rice chips with sesame seeds (although I read so many health blogs, I was convinced they were chia seeds)…and sugar…that were pretty good. (The sugar is kind of random, right?)
I ordered fish tacos, which were tasty and didn’t bother my stomach, which is about all I need in food these days.
Eatery is like 2 blocks from my office! It’s my go-to lunch spot when I wanna sit outside. Those rice things are weird, right? I didn’t love them at first but now whenever I go I can’t stop eating them! The tofu burger is the bomb – I highly recommend if you go back!
I think those are really black sesame… chia seeds are more marbled, they look kinda black from a few inches away but when you get close they are a mix of white/grey/black.
Anyhow, tacos are looking great.
You can never go wrong with fish tacos, theya re by far one of my favorite meals.
I don’t eat seafood but those rice chips look good!
I remember eating fish tacos for three days straight (brunch and dinner, and at one point for snack) because I was on a kind of a fast but then I got sick of it and I promised to never eat them again. Now, it’s like two years later, and the picture you put up here wants me to grab one over the weekend maybe after going to the gym. lol
A fish taco fast??
