This has been quite a day.
This morning, Tina and I got outfitted in our holiday best to head off to a taping of The Dr. Oz Show. She entered a cookie recipe that was selected to be featured, and when she asked if I could come along, they told her that I could be on the show, too! The show, a holiday-themed one, won’t air until right before Christmas. (I’ll let you know when I know the air date for sure so you can see just how awkward I am.)
I want to tell you all about this afternoon, but I can’t because the show hasn’t aired yet, but let’s just say that before we started taping, I definitely daydreamed that I was inside an episode of 30 Rock. (Dr. Oz tapes at the actual 30 Rock(efeller Center); 30 Rock tapes at Silvercup Studios in Long Island City.) Oh! And we weren’t inside the building for more than two minutes before we saw Mayor Bloomberg. (This is actually the second time I’ve seen him in person.) It was such a fun way to spend one of my last days of unemployment, and I’m glad Tina was able to share this experience with me!
I woke up with a nasty sore throat, ignored it all day and then had a really annoying NYC-kicking-you-while-you’re-down kinda night trying to take care of it: take subway to Duane Reade Dr. Walk In to find out the doctor’s gone, hop back on the subway to go to a 24-hour urgent care in Chelsea where I waited for kind of a while to find out that I couldn’t get some nice antibiotics that would just knock this out and then waited at CVS for too long to pick up some stuff that makes my tongue numb before taking a cab back that got stuck in traffic in the rain. I just want to feel better before I start my new job!
And then I found out that my dad’s in the hospital, and I felt bad about feeling sorry for myself. Please send some good wishes his way.
OH no lady – sending healing powers and positive vibes to both you and your dad!

No, it’s a few years old 🙁 It’s Ralph Lauren. Here’s the closest I could find to it: http://www.rugby.com/shop/item.aspx?productId=11956255
And thanks! I like it, but the pleats are sort of annoying when you sit.
