Christmas 2011

Christmas is over already, and I’m back in the city. I’m always happy to be back in the city, but where did the weekend go?

I think he ate it.

Growing up, we spent Christmas Eve with my mom’s side of the family and Christmas Day with my dad’s side of the family. Since my grandfather passed away in 2001, Christmas Days have been a lot quieter.

Um…yeah. Three people. Christmas is sort of big in our family.

So are bananas. My dad, completely unprovoked, did this when I asked him if he could grab me a banana as he walked past the fruit basket.

I LOVE YOU, DAD. I mean, I’ve loved you all my life, but I think we really had a moment yesterday.

Pancakes for breakfast to carb-load for the Virtual 10K. Or just because they were great.

I tried on some clothes I got for Christmas and lounged around for a while before heading out for a run. I must say, a Christmas Day run is becoming a tradition I’d like to keep up. I came back, very patiently helped my dad set up his new iPhone and ate leftovers. After some more glorious couch time, we headed over to my aunt’s for dessert with the family.

And some more cuddle time with my sweet little cousin. Yesterday was the perfect Christmas: some time with me and my parents, some me time and then some family time.

And now back to reality. Which is also not too bad!

We had a small Chrismas this year too. Just me and my parents. I think I ate my absent family member’s portions for breakfast lunch and dinner though. Ohhhh well!
