Best of 2014

Whether or not I write end-of-year recap posts is directly correlated to how good my year was, let’s be real.

And although I ended the year with a case of the blues, I still had a pretty awesome year.

And I’m really excited to end it on a low-key note. I was supposed to go to a fancy party but we didn’t get in off the wait list, and then some girlfriends and I were throwing around the idea of various ticketed parties, but no. I finally spoke up and said that I wasn’t feeling any of them and kind of just wanted to do dinner and a bar because NYE in NYC is the worst, and that is what we are doing now.

So here’s just a few bests from this year:

Best Trip: Europe, duh. I never finished recapping it because I still have some photo editing to do. One day.

Gruyere

Although that time I was flown out to LA for a photo shoot was pretty cool, too.

Best Workout: Mile High. Maybe that’s because I just came back from there this morning and it’s top of mind, but I love that there’s now a RUNNING STUDIO in NYC.

Best Party: Winter Ball, one of my favorite nights of the year

Best Memory: I had a wonderfully special Sunday a few weeks ago writing Christmas cards out with a friend and then seeing a tree lighting + Christmas caroling

And…I think a photo of bubbly is the perfect way to end this post and this year, right?

HAPPY NEW YEAR! See you in 2015, and thanks for sticking along for the ride!

Happy New Year! I always say New Years is totally overrated…And I am laughing because I titled my post today, NYE in NYC – was it just me or did the city feel kind dead or quieter than usual? I don’t know, I was down in meatpacking/Chelsea and it was quiet. Which was fine by me since I don’t care for the craziness (and haven’t been in bar atmosphere aside from the restaurant sides in forever – and I will keep it that way!)

The last couple years I’ve eaten dinner at home, drank a bottle of wine, and been in bed by 10. This year I went to a bar, and it was fun! But I don’t know that I’ll do the same next year. I really like wine and laying in my bed.

I was surprised to read your last sentence- “thanks for sticking along for the ride!” I feel like I should be thanking YOU! I am always impressed by your ability (and willingness) to write with honesty. Your posts can be hilarious, helpful and inspiring, but above all- they seem totally honest. So thank you, thank you, thank you. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that 2015 is a good one!

What a sweet comment! Thank you 🙂 That means a lot! I try to write with honesty because doing anything other than that is a disservice to me and my readers. I just want to write a blog that I would want to read, too.
