Your basic nutrition guidelines say that you eat only whole/organic foods, but I see that you eat things like hamburgers at restaurants (also red meat, which you say you don’t eat) and sandwiches from dunkin donuts (not technically organic). Have your nutritional guidelines changed since you started losing weight?

If you read the post carefully, it says those are the basic guidelines I’m following that my trainer gave me. He e-mailed those guidelines to me; that’s his writing.

I try to limit my red meat and eat as organically/naturally/mindfully as possible, but this doesn’t always happen. And yes, lately I have been following these less stringently, but I definitely need to get back on track a bit more. It’s not just about losing weight; it’s about staying healthy.

How has your BMI and muscle tone shifted during your weight loss? Was gaining muscle a big focus for you?

My BMI started at 31.5 (technically obese) and is now 23.6, which falls in the normal range-yay! My primary focus was getting rid of fat. I started at 42 percent body fat and am now around 26-27 percent body fat. I think gaining muscle/toning was a big part of my trainer’s plan for me, but I was mostly interested in losing fat. The gaining muscle was a pleasant side effect of that!
