At lunch yesterday, I went out with Abby, one of the Woman’s Day health editors (one of my coworkers and the lovely lady behind the Woman’s Day Twitter handle) to demo Eliptigos in Central Park. They’re basically elliptical meets bike, and they’re totally ridiculous. I felt like such an idiot the entire time on it, but I had a lot of fun. I had forgotten lunch, so we stopped at Pret on our way back, and I got a salad wrap with shrimp. Salad usually bothers my stomach, so if I’m eating something salad-y, I get it in a wrap, which seems to help.
Then I stopped at a Junior League meeting and went home and picked up my little fur-man.
I had to stop at the liquor store to pick up a bottle of Prosecco, and I was hoping I could bring him in with me and kill two birds with one stone. Usually, if I have to stop at the liquor store, I go home, walk him, bring him home and go back out. As I walked up to the counter to pay, I thought about how life-changing it would be and how much more wine I would end up consuming if I could cut out that bring-him-home step.
Apparently he thought I was going to trade him for the Prosecco, because he started barking his head off. I guess my liver’s safe.
We went back home and took the elevator down 18 stories to go to a party at Michelle’s boyfriend’s.
Oven-warmed bread with some sort of veggie dip. (I have no idea what it was, but it was good.)
Salad with chickpea, shrimp and fennel.
The whole set-up, including the yummy turkey meatballs.
The patio. It’s literally half the size of their apartment, and all kinds of awesome. Did I mention only 18 floors down from me? Yeah. 🙂 I had to go out to NJ last night to go pick up my car, so I had to wait for my mom to come pick me up. I felt super-cool being 28 years old and being picked up from a party by my mom. At least at 28, it’s completely legit to have a few glasses of prosecco after work, and I didn’t need to pretend I hadn’t.
I drove back into the city this morning. Sitting in an hour and a half of traffic to drive 30 miles clearly meant Starbucks for breakfast. They were out of THE WRAP, so I had to go for the turkey bacon egg sandwich, but not before asking if they were sure that they were out of the wrap. Oops.
So I had a nice little super-random Wednesday. What’d you do yesterday??
Also, my mom is on a nice little workout kick as of late. Leave her some nice comments so she keeps it up!
