The Week of ALL the Workouts

Here’s another little weekly recap. I’ll probably never have time for blogging every day again and sharing all the minutiae of my life, but I’ve been enjoying these posts that give you a bit more of a glimpse into my life, and I like seeing in writing what I accomplished that week.

Monday: Got in a nice 5 or 6 miles with Meggie.

Tuesday: Decided to take a rest day, since I knew I had quite a few workouts coming up the rest of the week. Met Jen for several hours of giggling, wine and girl talk and to celebrate a good review at work.

Wednesday: Tried out Cyc with my coworkers. Keoni, the instructor, doesn’t mess around. We did not one, not two, but three different songs with arm sections. My triceps were so sore that I accidentally poured half a thing of milk into my coffee the next day. Yay muscle failure? It was really cold after, but I walked home because I had a little shopping to do and I’m SO SICK of not walking all over the place. (Also, FYI CYC is on Gilt City right now. So is Prana Power Yoga, but only for new clients.)

Thursday: Uplift Sculpt Fusion in am. I am super loyal to Chelsea’s class, but I took Bronwyn’s, and it was nice to switch things up. While Chelsea’s class is obviously a little different every time, I’m really used to the rhythm and flow of her classes and the exercises she has us do, so it was fun to do something different.

PM: I tried Kundalini yoga, and I’m still not sure how I felt about it.

Friday: AM: Tried CityRow’s Row and Flow. My fave yoga instructor in the world teaches it, and it was such a nice way to start the day. I got to work early, sat around in yoga pants and a sweatshirt (HELLO FITNESS COMPANY!) and snuck out at lunch for a session with my trainer. MY EVERYTHING was sore after. I think Leanne is trying to kill me.

Saturday: Ran with my NYJL run club pre-ball and then did ball-related things all day and night. You could also say I got quite the workout on the dance floor.

Sunday: A well, well earned rest day! My trainer and I were originally going to work out today, and then I realized that was the dumbest idea we’d she’d ever had. Instead, Lacey and I got brunch, and I had huevos rancheros, and came back to sat on the couch, and I regret nothing.

The Uplift challenge is over today, and I’m trying to figure out what’s next for me, fitness-wise. I fell even more in love with Uplift over these past two months, but I’m also itching to add other workouts back in, especially running, now that it’s warming back up (or, will, soon, RIGHT?) I’m probably doing that tri in my hometown again, so I need to join a gym again soon so I can have a pool, but I’m not dying to be committed to a gym.

Tell me about your week!

This was definitely the week of ALL the workouts – holy heck! Any different thoughts about City Row now that you’ve taken it more than once?

Also, next week you’ll get to do at least two workouts with me! 🙂

The only gyms I commit to are ones that allow me to pay for a certain number of months at once. I refuse to have a gym during the summer (i live in minnesota) I have found a lot of gyms and studios that have better deals on class passes though!

Sounds like you had a pretty productive week. It reminds me, that I need to start upping my game myself, now that we’re in spring. Thanks for the inspiring post 🙂

All athletes sooner or later face the situation when they do not see any visible changes in their shape anymore. The latest research has lit the light over this problem. Muscle growth is impossible without the muscle damage. Microtraumas which we get after the trainings eventually enforce the cells division and overall increase of the muscle volume. I have read an interesting article by nutritional reseachers at Military Grade Nutritionals Company. It is available here militarygradenutritionals.com/blog
They wrote about the special products, which prevent the unwanted changes in the muscle tissue, therefore preventing DOMS and fighting so called muscle plateaus. Already tried it several times. At first I was not sure if it was the product’s action or I just have trained less), but after my second training all doubts just went away. It really eased my recovery – almost no soreness! I feel that I can train harder, gaining more results than ever before!
